We’re very excited to announce that Jewelz Cody will be curating the 20th Annual Art Car Show at Artscape, July 19-21, 2013. Jewelz comes to us from The Orange Show Center for Visionary Arts and the amazing Orange Show in Houston which boasts the most incredible art cars in the country…and probably the world.
Julia “Jewelz” Cody serves as the Artist Liaison/Coordinator & Producer for Art Car Weekend at the Orange Show Center for Visionary Arts. She joined the staff after her return to Houston from the San Francisco Bay Area where she developed and managed the Department of Mutant Vehicles for the Burning Man festival for 6 years. Her involvement in the art car community goes back to the first parade in Houston, a performance during New Music America in 1986. Several years later, she joined the steering committee for Art Car Weekend & began her appreciation for art cars and their artists. She has worked as an event producer, volunteered and worked for a myriad of arts organizations, and is a member of the internationally-acclaimed Flaming Lotus Girls, a group of artists making kinetic, mechanical fire art since 2000.

The SBA has just launched a new “Build a Business Plan” online tool that guides small business owners through the process of creating a basic, downloadable business plan. The great thing about this tool is you can build a plan in smaller bites, save your progress and return at your leisure.
To use the tool, you’ll need to be a member of the SBA Community and then log in. The tool offers a tab-based step-by-step guide that lets you enter information into a template for each section of the business plan, including market analysis, company description and financial projections. The tool is secure and confidential and will keep your plan on record for up to six months. You can also save, download or email the plan at any time. www.sba.gov
