Elevate 2015 – Projects for Downtown, Atlanta Georgia
The Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs in Atlanta Georgia is seeking creative, innovative public art projects to exhibit in downtown Atlanta during the month of October 2015. We welcome local, regional, national and international submissions for projects that consider the city of Atlanta as a muse (see full description). Artists working in a variety of mediums are encouraged to apply. SEAMANS CENTER SOUTH ANNEX ADDITION
Request for Qualifications (RFQ)

Summary: The University of Iowa, in Iowa City, Iowa is issuing this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from artists, artist teams or artist representatives to submit their qualifications for the creation of artwork for permanent installation at the Seamans Center South Annex. The project is currently in design and slated to begin construction in early 2016. This RFQ process will be followed by a Request for Proposal (RFP) process for up to four (4) finalists.
The Seamans Center South Annex Addition affords an opportunity for the establishment of artwork that is highly visible to large numbers of students, visitors and the public given its location adjacent to the Pentacrest, the University Capital Centre and a major east-west thoroughfare. The overarching goal is for this work to communicate and showcase the beauty of core engineering concept(s) in a way that is profound, timeless and engaging. It should communicate engineering principles to all ages and levels of education and background in some way.
The budget for the resulting commission will be approximately $165,000. This includes all associated costs of creation, fabrication, shipment, installation/integration and display. A stipend of $2,000 will be provided to finalists upon completion and presentation of formal proposals.

The Public Art League (PAL) in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois is seeking artists to display sculptures in our community. Selected sculptures will be installed in the community metro area and will serve as major visual anchor points, community identity and a statement that creativity and art are of vital importance to our existence in Central Illinois. The Public Art League (PAL) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that advances public art in the Champaign-Urbana urban areas.

The New Art Center’s Curatorial Opportunity Program (COP) is currently accepting proposals.
This open-call program investigates contemporary culture through the visual arts and makes diverse curatorial visions possible. It encourages emerging curators and artist-curators to realize experimental exhibitions within a large, non-profit exhibition space. We accept proposals involving two or more artists and at least one public presentation.
Our 2,500 square-foot gallery is a converted church with a 25-foot vaulted ceiling. Curators of accepted proposals receive a 1,000 USD stipend as well as administrative, installation, marketing & P.R. support.
The New Art Center has a 35-year tradition of using its Main Gallery for group exhibitions curated by an independent curator. Since May 1991, we have continued this tradition through our Curatorial Opportunity Program’s public call for proposals.
Come celebrate Billie Holiday’s 100th birthday on Lady Day Way, winner of the 2013 PNC Transformative Art Prize. Featuring artworks by Bridget Cimino, James Eichelberger, Michael Kirby, Anne Kotelba, and Joe Rizza.
And, of course, birthday cake.
Tuesday, April 7, 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Take a free nighttime tour of the murals, mosaics and painted screens that pay homage to Billie Holiday’s life and music on the 200 block of S. Durham St. between Pratt and Gough just east of S. Broadway.
Sunday, April 12, 1pm to 4pm. Enjoy a free block party, featuring a live musical performance by the Rhonda Robinson Quartet. Guided tours of the Billie Holliday-themed artworks of S. Durham St. will also be offered by the Upper Fells Point Improvement Association.
