7TH ANNUAL DRAWING DISCOURSE EXHIBITION – As part of an ongoing commitment to promote drawing practices in the visual arts, the University of North Carolina Asheville (UNC Asheville) invites artists to submit entries to an International juried exhibition of contemporary drawing.  UNC Asheville seeks to examine drawing as it is practiced and defined by today’s artists.  Such an exhibition will demonstrate the continued significance of drawing through both conventional and innovative methods.  Accepted work will be exhibited in UNC Asheville’s S. Tucker Cooke Gallery from Jan. 15, 2016 through Feb. 12, 2016. This exhibition will be accompanied by cash awards and an exhibition catalogue.

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts is now accepting applications for the 2016 PNC Transformative Art Prize!  The award grants up to $30,000 to Baltimore City community groups to enliven their underutilized public spaces through high-impact, community-driven public art projects. For 2016, the PNC Transformative Art Prize will build on the momentum and energy of the inaugural Light City Baltimore festival (March 28-April 3) and invite proposals for outdoor lighting and projection works of art. Community groups are asked to partner with artists and/or arts organizations to propose and design a transformative art concept for their neighborhood.

Call for Artwork
Howard University
Deadline: 11/06/2015

Whether it be a diagnosis of HIV or a lifelong battle with depression, stigma affects all of us. We currently have a call for artwork depicting the shame, denial, and secrets perpetuated by a world of stigma. All mediums of artwork accepted. First place prize is $250 and second and third place will be $125. Deadline of November 6th and no entry fee. Artwork will be displayed on our website, and some will be chosen for display or performance at the conference. Please direct submissions to natalie.martos@howard.edu.
