On behalf of Harbor East Management Group, Maryland Art Place (MAP) is pleased to announce an open ‘Call to Artists’ for this year’s “Window Wonderland,” a storefront, holiday initiative within the Harbor East corridor. Collectively, MAP & Harbor East are seeking unique, holiday presentations/installations to be placed in a variety of retail locations. Storefront installations will be on view from Friday, November 29, 2013 – Friday, January 3, 2014, with a formal unveiling scheduled for Thursday, December 5.
Selected artists will receive a $500 honorarium from Harbor East and must submit a budget along with their proposal, outlining the expense of their project. During the unveiling on Thursday, December 5 a small jury consisting of Brian Young, Curator of the Fine Arts Program at University of Maryland University College, Jennifer Goold, Executive Director of the Neighborhood Design Center, Deana Haggag, Director for The Contemporary & Aaron Henkin Producer at WYPR and host of “The Signal” will announce a “Best in Show” window installation. The winning artist or artist collective will receive a $1,000 cash prize from Harbor East.
