As part of the recent $50 million for the Maryland Nonprofit Recovery Initiative for COVID-19 Relief, the $3 million awarded to the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) will be distributed through the Emergency Grant Program, a grant program created in response to the COVID-19 State of Emergency that provides emergency funding to arts organizations and artists for losses sustained because of programming, operations, and events that have been modified or cancelled.

Of this $3 million:

  • $1 million will be available to County Arts Agencies
  • $435,000 will be available to Arts & Entertainment District Management Entities
  • $1,565,000 will be available to Arts Organizations and Independent Artists

All applicants above will be required to complete an application through Smart Simple to request funding. Applications will open on July 20 and must be submitted by 5 PM on August 3, 2020, to be considered for funding.

The Artscape Online Artists’ Market supports artists, performers, makers and craftspeople across all artistic disciplines by providing a virtual platform for artist storefronts. Artists across disciplines and from any geographical area are encouraged to apply for this opportunity.

CERF+ is launching the COVID-19 Relief Grant program to provide financial assistance to professional artists working in craft disciplines who are facing dire circumstances from the COVID-19 crisis.

As part of CERF+’s broader COVID-19 crisis response strategies, this special program will provide one-time $1,000 grants to meet urgent food, housing and/or health insecurities. The grants will be awarded in two cycles: the application opens July 8 and the deadline for the first round will be July 29, the second round will open August 19 and the deadline will be September. The program will focus on those facing the most severe financial pressures. Priority will be given to eligible artists who have traditionally been underserved by the grantmaking community including people of color and folk and traditional artists.

Cycle I Applications: July 8 – July 29 (closes 5:00 pm ET)
Cycle II Applications: August 19 – September 9 (closes 5:00 pm ET)

Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center, Inc (LTYC), is continuing a new initiative, Art Now, beginning in August 2020 and expanding its resources. Art Now serves as LTYC’s virtual response to ensure that students and artists can participate in arts learning anywhere and at any time. Through arts tutoring, virtual classes, webinars and more, the Performing and Creative arts can always be right in the palm of youth’s hands. LTYC is seeking proposals from artists and arts educators to deliver a 15-20 minute lesson. Individuals may apply and submit more than one proposal.

The submission deadline is 4:00 pm ET, Friday, July 31, 2020.

LTYC is seeking proposals from artists and arts educators who provide high-quality evidenced-based arts instruction who are willing to share their expertise in a highly engaging video lesson submission.
