The Baker Artist Awards provides critical recognition and resources to support artists’ projects, their lives, and well-being, all while living in the Baltimore area. Artists may submit portfolios for the chance to win. Awards will include $10,000 for an artist in each of the six disciplines. One of these artists will then be selected to receive an additional $30,000 prize

2018 SUMMER SESSION: JUNE 9—AUGUST 11

The application deadline is January 10, 2018 at 11:59PM EST (23:59). Applications will not be accepted after January 10 for any reason. The 2018 application fee amount is determined by the date that you choose to submit your application.

The fee is $20 if you apply between November 15 and November 22, 2017.

The fee is $50 if you apply between November 23 and December 6, 2017.

The fee is $65 if you apply between December 7, 2017 and January 7, 2018.

The application fee is $80 if you apply between January 8 and January 10, 2018.

All fee increases will occur at 11:59PM (EST) on the last day of each payment bracket. All dates and times are EST.

Admission to Skowhegan, the awarding of general financial assistance, and the pursuit of all Skowhegan activities are implemented without preference to racial or ethnic origins, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, disability, or age. The Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture is a not-for-profit organization incorporated under the laws of the State of Maine.

Young Audiences is offering paid positions for artists to train as Teaching Artists and use their art in the classroom setting at the Summer Arts & Learning Academy, July 9-August 10. (Training will be between January and April, 2018). At the Academy, artists will team with academic teachers to work in the mornings with Baltimore City children on art and arts-integrated literacy and math, and then will lead art experiences in the afternoon.

In collaboration with the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, Arts Every Day is proud to present the second installment of our 10×10 Exhibit. This year’s exhibition will be inspired by story quilter Joan Gaither and painter Jacob Lawrence, both of whom are exhibiting work at the Lewis Museum this year. Baltimore City students and teachers are open to submit art and performances that explore the life and works of these two prominent African-American artists.

Who is eligible?
All Baltimore City students and educators.

What can I submit? 
10in x 10in art works or a 3 minute performance video. Please note:This is a curated exhibit, and we may not be able to accommodate all pieces submitted.

When is the exhibition?
Exhibition: January 8th-February 23rd, 2018, The Motor House
Reception: January 24th, 2018 4-7PM, The Motor House

  • December 1, 2017: Complete the submission form and upload an image portfolio
  • December 15, 2017: Drop off artwork and signed art release forms at the Motor House, 120 W, North Ave. Baltimore, MD 21201.

RFQ Posted November 13, 2017 for Gateway Sculpture into Downtown Roanoke VA
The Deadline for response to the RFQ is December 15 by 2:00PM.

The City of Roanoke seeks artists or artist teams’ qualifications to design, fabricate and install a sculpture or other suitable art in a park located at Entranceway Park, 114 Wells Ave N.W. which serves as a gateway into downtown Roanoke. The art work shall reflect the inclusively and diversity of the population of the City of Roanoke. The project is funded through a one time allocation that recognizes the tenth year of the City of Roanoke’s formal Percent for Art Program. The budget is $45,000. This project is open to all artists and artist teams, age 18 and over, who are residents of the United States. All applicants, regardless of race, sex, religion, nationality, origin or disability will be considered.
