Yesterday, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake announced the creation of the Creative Baltimore Fund at the new location of the Single Carrot Theater in Remington.
Creative Baltimore has two primary grant programs: Mayor’s Individual Artist Award – Project Support provides support for arts or cultural programs that promote public access and encourage the breadth of arts and/or cultural programming in our community. General Operating Supportprovides core support for established arts or cultural organizations that benefit the public and are artistically or culturally vibrant.

Open Space is pleased to announce an open application for the Fifth Annual Publications and Multiples Fair, taking place March 7-9 at the D Center (16 W North Avenue) in Baltimore, MD.
We are seeking independent publishers and artists working in multiple (books, prints, sculpture, music, video, etc), who will have the opportunity to display and sell work to an audience of viewers, artists, gallery owners, collectors, and librarians over the course of the weekend. This celebration and survey will be accompanied by related lectures and programs. Last year’s fair featured over 60 vendors, two days of programming, and a sweep of related art events. While keeping a focus on publications and multiples, we’re aiming to grow this weekend into a citywide function celebrating the work of the artists and spaces who contribute to our art community and beyond.
The deadline for applications is February 5th, and vendors will be notified of selection February 10th. Due to limited space, not all vendor requests will be accepted. Fill out the online form here to submit your application, and direct any questions to openspacebaltimore@gmail.com

Works that explore an expanded notion of public sculpture are encouraged. All work entered must be free-standing and suitable for long-term outdoor public display. Work must be as vandal-proof as possible and cannot have sharp edges or be easily breakable or bendable. Several sites are available for ground-mounted works. Work must be of sufficient size to minimize possibility for theft. All accepted entries must be capable of being properly secured to a concrete pad, or securely anchored in the ground.
Eligibility:
Open to all artists 18 years of age or older. All entries must be original work and may not have been shown previously in this exhibition.
Entry Deadline: The entry deadline is 4:00 PM on Friday, February 6, 2015.

Artists may enter up to three (3) works for consideration. Please submit digital photographs of each work. Entrants should also submit a biographical paragraph and brief statement about each work entered. Please enter by completing the digital form here: www.lawrenceks.org/publicart. If unable to submit digitally, please contact Christina McClelland at arts@lawrenceks.org/785-832-3402. Entry deadline is 4:00 PM Friday, February 6, 2015.
Delivery and Return of Artwork:
Artists will be solely responsible for the delivery of artwork and return shipping arrangements; artists will also be responsible for all shipping charges. Accepted work must be received around Friday, April 25, 2015 by appointment. Artists will be required to reclaim their work by Friday, April 10, 2016.
Other Responsibilities:
Selected artists must sign a loan agreement in which they agree to: 1) permit the City of Lawrence to install the artwork; 2) promise that the artwork will remain on display for the duration of the exhibition and 3) recognize that, in the interest of public safety and community priority, the City has the right to remove damaged sculpture unless promptly and satisfactorily repaired by the artist. Work will be insured against property loss up to a maximum of $5,000.
