The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced the first class of its new Citizen Artist Fellows program, which recognizes artists across the country who utilize their art form for positive impact on communities small and large. These Citizen Artist Fellows will be a signature component of the annual Kennedy Center Arts Summit, to be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 in the Kennedy Center Theater Lab and live-streamed on the Kennedy Center website. The Summit, co-hosted by Renée Fleming and Yo-Yo Ma, is a national platform for shining a spotlight on stories of Citizen Artists who live up to President John F. Kennedy’s ideals of service, justice, freedom, courage, and gratitude through exploration, innovation, and creativity

From Germany!
The intoxicating dance work Der Bau (The Burrow), created by Berlin-based choreographer Isabelle Schad and French artist Laurent Goldring, is inspired by Franz Kafka’s unfinished novella of the same title.
With a mix of lush, ferocious, and sometimes spare movement, performed nude, Schad uses an animal’s burrow as a metaphor for the human body.
Target your art toward a specific commercial market, audience and/or retail company. Learn how to develop and market your arts business for mass production. This testing ground class will let you present proto-types, learn about patents, and the latest resources for commercial artists.
The class will be on Tuesdays from 7-9 pm at Catonsville Community College starting March 1 to March 22. Another one will be starting in May. To register for the class please visit http://www.ccbcmd.edu/Programs-and-Courses-Finder/course/SBA/973
