This Tuesday (Nov 18) marked the re-opening of the Baltimore Museum of Art’s American Wing and the original Merrick entrance. BMA director Doreen Bolger and lead architect Steve Ziger were on hand to welcome everyone, and American Art head curator David Curry led a tour through the new galleries, which features 800 objects and paintings, many of which had never been displayed. This photo essay captures some of the great pieces, odd juxtapositions and numerous fun details I found- you should definitely stop by soon for a FREE visit. Lotta Art 2014

The 22nd annual Lotta Art Benefit takes place on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 6pm to 9pm.  For 2014, the event returns to School 33 Art Center, located at 1427 Light Street.  The fundraiser features a lottery-style drawing for original artwork, delectable food and wine, and music.  The lottery-style drawing starts at 7:30pm.  More than 100 talented artists generously donate their artwork for the benefit. The exhibition is open to the public from Saturday, November 1 through Friday, November 7. Proceeds from Lotta Art support School 33 Art Center, an institution that has championed the arts for more than 30 years through arts education, exhibitions and a Studio Artist Program.  The 2014 Lotta Art Benefit is produced by School 33 Art Center, a facility of the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts.

Tickets for LOTTA ART 2014 are on sale! Click here to purchase tickets!

The End of the World is Here…Again explores the themes of living in a society where the next apocalypse is always just around the corner.  Whether it is real or imagined we live in a world where the media, government, and entertainment industries are continually confronting us with new “End of the World” scenarios.  Ranging from infectious diseases, terrorist attacks, economic crises, nuclear Armageddon, to a zombie apocalypses, we are living in a state of constant heightened fear, or worse- completely desensitized and apathetic to the world we live in.

The Graffiti Warehouse Gallery is located in The Graffiti Warehouse, a 14,000 square foot exhibition space walls covered with street art and graffiti from some of the best artists in the world, including artists from Baltimore, New York, Los Angeles and Paris.  One of the finest collections of art in the city of Baltimore, The Warehouse door opens onto the world famous Graffiti Alley-the only place in the city of Baltimore where it is legal to spray paint graffiti.
