COPPIN STATE ANNOUNCES SECOND ANNUAL THEATRE SCHOLARSHIP AUDITIONS EVENT
The Theatre Arts Program at Coppin State University will hold open auditions for its Second Annual Theatre Scholarships Screening. The event is scheduled Saturday, May 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Theatre Lab, located on the lower level of the Grace Hill Jacobs Building on campus.
To be eligible for theatre scholarship awards, auditionees must:
- Be a US citizen
- Major in theatre
- Be admitted to Coppin State University
- Be a new (high school or transfer) or continuing student
- Demonstrate financial need (via the Office of Financial Aid)
- Maintain an overall cumulative 2.0 grade point average
- Make measurable progress toward the degree goal
For the audition, eligible candidates should prepare two contrasting monologues (example: one comic, one serious or one classical piece, one modern selection), not to exceed a total of three minutes. Auditionees should bring a headshot and resume if available. Singers should be prepared to sing as one of the two selections. Those interested in design/technical theatre should bring samples of their work to present to the scholarship committee as part of a formal interview.
