Approximately 30 photographs will be chosen for a four week exhibition in August 2016. Upon completion of the jury process, images will be printed by Fotofoto gallery. No need for you to print, frame or ship your work. The exhibition will be installed salon-style in our beautiful gallery space.

Submission fees: 5 images – $40. Images 6 -15 may be submitted for an additional charge of $5 per image.

FOW symbol 7Future of Western is a D.C. based contemporary fine art exhibition is organized as an attempt to explore possible future Western identity. This open-ended, juried show provides artists with the opportunity to showcase alternative and experimental pro-Western culture.

Artists might consider the following:  How will the future West differentiate itself from future multiculturalism and non-Western globalization?

This juried exhibition will establish up to 10 winners. There is no monetary prize and artists are expected to pay round- trip shipping costs as well as insurance expenses. Every attempt will be made to maximize media attention. This exhibition should be viewed as a catalyst for emerging and mid-career artists. The exhibition is planned for the summer of 2016. The show’s planned location is at the Capitol Skyline Hotel in Washington, D.C.. This is the former home of both Washington Project for the Arts and the Emerge art fair.

wvfa-2016-slide[1]This year marks the 3th annual  Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts, a three day event dedicated to promoting the arts and supporting artists.  It is largest juried fine art exhibition in Eastern Oregon, located in the town of Joseph, known for its beautiful geography and plethora of outdoor activities, as well as its many bronze foundries and main street art installations.

The festival features contemporary art and traditional realism, reflecting the beauty, culture, and traditions of the region’s arts and artists. Consistent with that intent any subject, style or medium within these categories will be considered by the jury: (sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, mixed media, glass, jewelry, fiber arts, ceramics, and collage).  The festival is open to all artists, and all accepted work(s) must be made available for sale.  Each piece of art entered, must be the same one accepted in the jury process.

cretive_alliance_gallery_alive_0[1]The Amalie Rothschild Gallery in Baltimore invites artists to apply either to exhibit their work in their gallery space, or to use the gallery as a project space to incubate and facilitate new work to put on exhibition for their 2017 season.

Exhibits at the Amalie Rothschild Gallery are generally self-produced. Artists are responsible for most of the installation and publicity for their exhibitions. CA (Creative Alliance) membership is required to apply.

The City of Philadelphia’s Percent for Art Program, through the Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy announces a public art competition to commission an interior site-specific artwork for The Free Library of Philadelphia’s main branch at Parkway Central.  This commission is part of a $36 million major project renovation.

A budget of $50,000 has been allocated for this Percent for Art commission.  This sum is inclusive of all artist(s) fees, insurance, fabrication, installation, travel, and all other project related expenses.

Digital Approaches: Sculpture, Fiber Art, Painting & New Media

Digital Fabrication Residency program residents learn and gain hands-on experience with laser cutting, CNC routing, FDM 3D printing, digital embroidery, 2D plotting and 3D scanning. Applications for the 3 Day Onsite Residency Program must include a project proposal that outlines what the resident plans to work on while onsite. Residents are responsible for arranging their own accommodations, travel expenses, meals and if projects require materials outside of those provided.

2 online planning meetings prior to residency for file preparation and project ideation. This is a highly individualized opportunity to develop and work through ideas on the machines and utilizing a private studio. There are basic materials supplied and residents can send materials ahead of onsite visit. See website for residency participation details. No application fee.

Caravanserai is kicking off its Baltimore Made Project, with the debut of a collection of ten Baltimore-themed pillows, designed and illustrated by MICA alumni Steph Stilwell.

Attendees will have the chance to meet with the designer, talk about the inspiration and original artwork, and purchase pillows. The Baltimore-centric designs include Edgar Allen Poe, Billie Holiday, Cab Calloway and a Maryland crab, among others. Light refreshments will be offered.
