Jason Martin and Power Animals crew at Artscape 2011.

You may have seen Jason Martin‘s Power Animals when they performed at Artscape in 2011. If you didn’t catch that, maybe you can see them opening for Lady Gaga with Lady Starlight in February and March as part of the Monster Ball Tour!

You can also check  Way Out Variety Show, curated by Jason and happening January 15th,  8 – 10pm at the Gershwin Hotel in New York.

Baltimore artists Michael Farley, Ryan Mitchell and Sophia Park debuted their spoofy orange-skinned art world goddesses at Artscape 2012 and then took their performance art to Art Basel. Check their Art/Dazzle ultra low budget shot-on-iPhone video, Meet Me At The Vernissage.

We’re very excited to announce that Jewelz Cody will be curating the 20th Annual Art Car Show at Artscape, July 19-21, 2013.  Jewelz comes to us from The Orange Show Center for Visionary Arts and the amazing Orange Show in Houston which boasts the most incredible art cars in the country…and probably the world.

Julia “Jewelz” Cody serves as the Artist Liaison/Coordinator & Producer for Art Car Weekend at the Orange Show Center for Visionary Arts. She joined the staff after her return to Houston from the San Francisco Bay Area where she developed and managed the Department of Mutant Vehicles for the Burning Man festival for 6 years. Her involvement in the art car community goes back to the first parade in Houston, a performance during New Music America in 1986. Several years later, she joined the steering committee for Art Car Weekend & began her appreciation for art cars and their artists. She has worked as an event producer, volunteered and worked for a myriad of arts organizations, and is a member of the internationally-acclaimed Flaming Lotus Girls, a group of artists making kinetic, mechanical fire art since 2000.
