The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) has partnered with the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA) to commission a new piece of public artwork for the interior of the Penn-North Metro station. The addition of new artwork is a part of the planned station improvements funded and made possible by North Avenue Rising, a $27.3 million project funded by the US Department of Transportation, Baltimore City Department of Transportation (BCDOT) and the Maryland Department of Transportation.

Made In Baltimore is creating Baltimore’s first ever all-local product lookbook, and we want to feature your goods. This publication will be printed in the thousands and distributed to retailers and consumers throughout the Baltimore region.  This is an opportunity to reach thousands of new customers (and be featured in a classy publication as well!).

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts and the Baltimore Office of Sustainability’s Baltimore Green Network welcome proposals for sculptures and installations to be installed as part of the 2018-2019 season of the Lots Alive outdoor sculpture program. Winning proposals will be eligible for grants up to $5,000.

Lots Alive supports the creation of temporary outdoor sculpture sited on vacant lots within the Baltimore City limits. For this grant cycle, seven vacant lot sites have been identified for artist activation in the Park Heights neighborhood (on Park Heights Ave). Each project is expected to be installed for 12 months.

Designed in partnership with Mayor Catherine Pugh’s Baltimore Green Network, Lots Alive aims to breathe life into underutilized vacant spaces through creative interventions.

School 33 has a studio residency opening up on October 1st, 2018! Our residents become part of a robust community of professional artists, are able to take advantage of critiques and mentorships with professors, curators, and critics – open studios during our bi-monthly events – our annual Open Studio Tour – and our Studio Resident Biennial Exhibition. VisArts welcomes artists ages 17 – 27 in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area to submit their application for NextGen 5.0our fifth exhibition in our Kaplan Gallery from July 11 – August 19, 2018. NextGen 5.0 is an opportunity for aspiring artists with little to no experience exhibiting their work in a professional gallery. VisArts is a non-profit organization whose mission is to transform individuals and communities through the visual arts. VisArts provides children, teens and adults with opportunities to express their creativity and enhance their awareness of the arts. Applicants should have little or no experience exhibiting in a professional gallery.

Previous NextGen participants are ineligible. Previous NextGen applicants who were not selected may re-apply for this year’s exhibition
