Artscape’s Artists’ Market is going virtual!
The Artscape Online Artists’ Market supports artists, performers, makers and craftspeople across all artistic disciplines by providing a virtual platform for artist storefronts. Artists across disciplines and from any geographical area are encouraged to apply for this opportunity.
Application Deadline: Friday, July 24, 2020 at 11:59PM EST
The Artscape Online Artists’ Market will feature an online directory where artists can showcase, promote and sell their artistry (featuring visual arts, performing arts, literary arts and culinary arts.)
The market will run virtually from Friday, August 21 – Sunday, August 30, 2020.
The Artscape Online Artists’ Market is a juried show, and applications will be scored by a panel of professionals in the fields of craft, fine art, fashion and design. BOPA is thrilled to feature Kim Bentley, Kelvin Bulluck, Caprece Jackson-Garrett, Herb Massie and April Wood as jurors.
Maryland-Made Program & Emerging Artists
Maryland-based artists accepted into the Artscape Online Artists’ Market may have the opportunity to be selected for a series of Artist Talks. With this new program, audiences will experience in-depth conversations with artists and discussions about their work.
Emerging Artists are encouraged to apply for the Artscape Online Artists’ Market. BOPA is committed to providing a platform for Emerging Artists who may be participating in Artscape as their first show.
Artscape Virtual Programming Summer 2020
Artscape, Baltimore’s largest and most beloved annual arts festival, was originally scheduled for July 17-19, 2020. Due to the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic, large events throughout Baltimore City have been cancelled this summer. While the festival’s cancellation is disappointing, it is not devastating. The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts continues to support the creative community virtually throughout the summer.
Janet & Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize
The 15th annual Janet & Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize, an Artscape tradition, will continue virtually this year. Visit BOPA’s Sondheim Artscape Prize page for more information about the Virtual Finalists’ Exhibition and Award Ceremony.
Artscape at Home
In addition to the Artscape Online Artists’ Market and the virtual Sondheim Artscape Prize Exhibition and Ceremony, BOPA will highlight Artscape at Home through social media during the original weekend of the festival (July 17-19, 2020) to recognize and remember what Artscape means to the arts community and the cultural fabric of the greater Baltimore region. Look for throwback photos, trivia, fan favorite moments and more on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
