Towson University’s Asian Arts and Culture Center is currently seeking a part-time contractual Cultivation and Operations Assistant to assist the Asian Arts and Culture Center with audience engagement, development and accounting.
Responsibilities: Assist the director with cultivating relationships with Center stakeholders and target audiences; maintain communications and schedule meetings with Center stakeholders and target audiences; assist with membership drives, record-keeping, renewals and membership event planning and implementation; assist with accounting; assist with implementing annual appeal campaigns; assist with fundraising endeavors, including but not limited to grant-seeking, grant-writing and donor event planning and implementation; provide general program support; and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in administrative staff work. The selected candidate must have strong verbal and written communication, administrative, analytical, organizational, and customer service skills; skill in various computer software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and internet research; proven ability to set priorities and meet deadlines, balance multiple projects and keep accurate and detailed records; and the ability to work some evenings and weekends. Experience with community outreach, donor cultivation, membership program management, grant writing, fundraising, or accounting preferred. Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
Salary: $17.30/hour. Contractual employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage. The position is contingent on funds being available at time of hire.
