Full Bleed, an online and print journal of art and design, seeks original essays and artwork on the theme of Crisis. In particular, Full Bleed is interested in writing that critiques narratives and representations arising from contemporary crises, and assessments of artwork and design that address crises of the past, present, or future. Please send pitches or previously unpublished work along with a brief biography to editor Paul Jaskunas (pjaskunas@mica.edu, fullbleedjournal@gmail.com). Contributors will receive a modest honorarium.
Full Bleed’s first issue explored migration and immigration and included artwork, poetry, memoir, essays, and criticism from a rich variety of internationally recognized contributors. Published annually by Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), Full Bleed is committed to cultivating aesthetic experience and progressive design while furthering understanding of contemporary conditions. Full Bleed favors artwork, criticism, and illustration that emanate personality and experiment with form, encouraging contrarian argument on fundamental questions of value and cultural phenomena that are of active concern to living artists and designers. Issue One is sold out. Visit www.full-bleed.org for more information.
